It was getting dark and SNOWING by the time 5:00 came around so we camped where we could. We set up our tents as quickly as possible, heated water for food and ate ASAP then went right inside our tents to get as warm as possible. I think we both were asleep by 6:30!
By morning our tents, and all around our tents, were covered with a light dusting of snow. It must have been 25 degrees last night. My low-budget resourceful alternative to a sleeping bag liner was a vinyl tablecloth that I bought at the dollar store. It was quite Beverly Hillbilly-esque, but it saved me from totally freezing last night. I'm pretty proud of myself for thinking of that. :>
