...it's practically a "zero" day!
Middle Velma lake is so beautiful, the picture hardly does it justice. The campsites are on rock "tiers" and the rocks go right down to the water. Although today was relatively easy, with lots of flat terrain, I am starting to get more hungry and my body is really feeling the mountain
miles. I take Aleve morning and night and have done so since the night before we started hiking, last Friday.
The other half of our group joined us again tonight, since we are all out of Desolation Wilderness and therefore we don't have to have a small group (no more than 8 people at a campsite) at our campground. It is so good to see them again, even though we also enjoyed our small group the past two nights. One lady developed meniscus tears in one of her knees and is really struggling.
We all were asleep by 8:30.
